"Latvijas Finieris" has implemented an energy efficiency improvement project called “Upgrading Thermal Oil Heaters” at its Lignums factory. Due to the modernisation project developed by UPB Energy, the factory can now recover 28,000 MWh of thermal energy from the emitted flue gasses per year, which is then used to ensure production processes.
To increase the performance of thermal oil heaters, we equipped the existing heater and flue gas pipes with heat recovery devices of 2.0 MW and 1.7 MW capacity and integrated the automation system of the new devices within the existing system.
Within the project, UPB Energy designed, manufactured and installed flue gas heat recovery devices for the biomass thermal oil heaters, integrating them within the existing thermal oil heater network and control systems. The work was carried out without affecting the manufacturing process at "Latvijas Finieris" Lignums factory.
